GREATER VALLEY AREA — High school basketball season is in full swing throughout the Greater Valley Area. On Tuesday, numerous girls and boys teams will hit the hardwood.

In AISA action, Chambers Academy will play at Eastwood, while the Springwood School will play at Glenwood.

The Springwood girls are 13-3 on the season but will face a tough test in Glenwood, the defending Class 3A state champion.

In AHSAA action, LaFayette will play at Class 2A, Area 8 foe Horseshoe Bend, while Lanett will host Area 8 opponent Reeltown.

Tuesday night’s results will help to determine seeding for February’s area tournament. The Lady Panthers currently hold a 2-0 record in the area. The Lanett boys, along with both LaFayette teams, are 1-1.

In 5A, Valley will host Beauregard in an Area 5 showdown. Both the Rams and Lady Rams are looking to rebound from Friday losses to Booker T. Washington.
