LaFAYETTE — Two people were arrested by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. According to Sheriff’s Office reports,

Edward Deal, 34, of Opelika has been charged with failure to pay (FTP) on two charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, and

Jalen Cooper, 23, of Lanett has been charged with a probation violation.

There were 144 inmates in the Chambers County jail this morning.

WEST POINT — A theft was reported on Highland Drive in West Point on Thursday.
