BEULAH — Two weeks can make a big difference. Just ask the Beulah High School baseball team.
In mid-March, the Bobcats were two games over. 500 and on the fringe of being ranked in Class 3A. They have since dropped six straight games, including Tuesday’s 8-2 decision at Elmore County.
The Panthers held Beulah (8-12) to one hit, a sixth-inning single off the bat of Andruw Coxwell.
The Bobcats plated their two runs on a steal of home by Isaac Gardner and a sacrifice groundout by Tristin Taylor.
Gardner started on the hill and allowed six runs on seven hits in three innings.
Tuesday’s loss was Beulah’s second of the week. The Bobcats also fell on Monday at Horseshoe Bend, 12-2.
The team’s last victory came on March 14 against Spencer (Ga.), 13-3.
Beulah will be off the rest of spring break before retaking the field on Tuesday against 3A, Area 6 foe Central Coosa.
