Mrs. Mary Faye Lane Crowder

VALLEY — Mrs. Mary Faye Lane Crowder,  91, of Valley, Ala. passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Bethany House in Auburn, Ala..  She was born on January 4, 1927 in Langdale, Ala. to the late Homer Frank Lane and Mary Elder Lane.

Mrs. Crowder is survived by her eight children, Cindy Ginder (Scott Smith), Kenny McClellan, Mary Lynn (Jeff) Black, Pam (Jeff) Watts, Sandy (Johnny) Robertson, Jackie (Deb) Crowder, Wanda (Gary) Irvin and Shaun (Christina) Crowder; her two brothers, Marvin (Linda) Lane and William (Mary) Lane; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-seven great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Crowder; her daughter, Pat McClellan and her granddaughter, Kelli McClellan.

Mrs. Crowder was a very active member of Langdale United Methodist Church.  She loved her Lord and her family and served them all faithfully.  She was the matriarch of her family and their spiritual shepherd. When she prayed she would include every family member’s name in her prayer.  She enjoyed going to the beach and Camp Sumatanga, and was a very big Auburn Tigers fan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Langdale United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Langdale Cemetery. The Reverends Rusty Tate and Mike Stonebreaker will officiate.  The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
