WEST POINT — Per Postmaster Autumn Templeton, the West Point Post office will be closed Thursday, Oct. 11 due to weather conditions brought on by Hurricane Michael.
Templeton said that the plant in Macon responsible for processing mail will be evacuated for the storm. No one will be at the post office and there will be no one to bring in or deliver papers for the entirety of Thursday. As a result, those Valley Times-News customers serviced by the West Point Post Office will not receive a hard copy version of Thursday’s newspaper until Friday, Oct. 12.
In light of this development, the Thursday, Oct. 11 E-edition will be free to view online for subscribers and non-subscribers alike from 8 am ET Thursday – 8 am ET Friday.
