LaFAYETTE — The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office had an unusually busy weekend with a total of 21 arrests being made. According to Chambers County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Joey McClendon, 48, of LaGrange has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear in court to answer a charge of possession of a controlled substance;

Ashlee Sharpe, 29, of LaGrange has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, promoting prison contraband, third degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving a false name to law enforcement;

Kimberly Harris, 28, of Roanoke has been charged with obstructing justice with false identity and theft of property, second degree;

Rustin Freeman, 41, of LaGrange has been charged with attempting to elude law enforcement;

Rodney Hammock, 30, of Valley has been charged with possession of marijuana, first degree;

Richard Whitlow, 61, of LaFayette has been charged with attempting to elude law enforcement, resisting arrest and two counts FTA – child support;

Jalen Washington, 24, of Lanett has been charged with FTA – child support;

Antonio Pankey, 41, of Valley has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia;

Marlon Staples, 35, of Opelika has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia;

Caitlin Cook, 21, of Lanett has been charged with possession of marijuana, second degree;

Mario Farrow, 39, of Lanett has been charged with possession of marijuana, first degree;

Johnny Bailey, 51, of Lanett has been charged with two counts FTA – child support;

Tedra Hooks, 37, of Roanoke has been charged with FTA – driving with a suspended license and FTA – no insurance;

Angela Duke, 34, of Lanett has been charged with FTA – speeding and FTA – no insurance;

Demonta Williams, 26, of LaGrange has been charged with FTA – speeding and FTA – switched tag;

James Harris, 27, of Lanett has been charged with failure to pay – speeding;

Keith Walker, 52, of Pine Mountain, Ga. has been charged with FTA – driving without a license;

William Britt, 54, of Lanett has been charged with two counts of sexual abuse, first degree and traveling to meet a child;

Taylor Williams, 33, of Opelika has been charged on grand jury indictments for rape, first degree, sodomy, first degree, sexual abuse and incest;

Ashley Morris, 24, of Cusseta has been charged with DUI and

James Howard, 54, of LaFayette has been charged with sodomy and sexual abuse.

There were 142 inmates in the Chambers County jail Monday morning.

LANETT — Eight people were arrested in Lanett over the weekend. According to Lanett Police Department reports,

Printis Williams, 20, of Lanett has been charged with menacing;

Keith Walker, 52, of Pine Mountain, Georgia has been charged with FTA – traffic;

Mechakka Potts, 28, of Valley has been charged with bail jumping, second degree;

James Harris, 27, of Lanett has been charged with bail jumping, second degree;

Jalen Washington, 23, of Lanett has been charged with bail jumping, second degree;

Carey Meadows, 55, of LaFayette has been charged with bail jumping, second degree, and obstructing a government operation;

Joshua Dowdell, 19, of Lanett has been charged with being a fugitive from justice;

Stacy Hamilton, 31, of Woodstock, Ga. has been charged with possession of marijuana, second degree, and giving false identification to a law enforcement officer.

In incidents being investigated by Lanett officers, theft of property, fourth degree, and criminal trespassing, second degree, was reported on the 1700 block of 16th Avenue SW, criminal trespassing was reported on the 1400 block of South 5th Street, domestic violence, third degree, was reported on the 400 block of South 8th Avenue, harassment and criminal mischief was reported on the 400 block of South Gilmer Avenue and domestic violence, third degree, was reported on the 5400 block of 16th Street SW.

VALLEY — Six people were arrested in Valley over the weekend. According to Valley Police Department reports,

Susan Mason, 57, of Valley has been charged with failure to pay;

Jordan L. Sturkie, 27, of Valley has been charged with attempting to elude;

Calvin Dooley, 48, of Valley has been charged with failure to pay – possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia;

Jacob Matthew Brown, 29, of Valley has been charged with bail jumping, second degree;

Tia Maria Fleming, 25, of Valley has been charged with criminal mischief, second degree, and

Rustin Daniel Freeman, 40, of Lanett has been charged with bail jumping, second degree.

In incidents being investigated by Valley officers, theft of property, third degree, was reported on the 2000 block of Calgary Crescent, theft of property, fourth degree, was reported on the 300 block of River Road and domestic violence, third degree – verbal was reported on the 3300 block of 24th Avenue.

WEST POINT reports

WEST POINT — One person was arrested in West Point over the weekend. According to West Point Police Department reports,

Willie Pritchard of Lanett has been charged with driving without a license and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer.

In incidents being investigated by West Point officers, criminal trespassing was reported on East 14th Street and entering an automobile was reported on East 6th Avenue.
