Mrs. Sonja H. Cook — 1939-2019

LANETT — Mrs. Sonja H. Cook, 79, of Lanett, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at the Bethany House in Auburn.
Mrs. Cook was born in West Point, on Dec. 27, 1939, to the late A.F. and Julia Harris. She was a member of the Church of the Highlands in Auburn.
Sonja was a loving wife of 59 years and a wonderful mother and “Nana” to her grandchildren. Although we know she has been reunited with our father and that we will see her again, she will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by her son, Jim Cook, and his wife, Christy, of Smiths Station; her daughter Laura Cook of Auburn; her grandchildren, Jordan Futrell, Jake Futrell, Josh Futrell, Joey Futrell, Sydney Cook, Avery Cook, and Josiah Cook.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Lanett, located at 610 S. 8th Ave. A private graveside service will be held following the service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 EDT.
