Mrs. Sadie “Peggy” Howard Whitted, a resident of Montgomery and native of Lanett, died on May 26 at her residence.  Funeral Services are scheduled for June 1 at 1 p.m. from Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett with Pastor Lamar D. Johnson officiating and the Rev. James Brown, Eulogist.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lanett. Public Viewings are scheduled for May 31 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel. Mrs. Whitted was preceded in death by her parents, L.J. and Luellar Shell Howard, Sr.; her siblings, Willie B. Howard, Margaret Walker, Ozell Howard, L.J. Howard, Jr., Doris Mae Woody, Luellar Cammon; and her god-brother, David Grooms. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, the Rev. James E. Whitted, Montgomery; her devoted children, Darryl J. Whitted and Felecia Whitted both of Montgomery; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Howard, Las Vegas, NV and Georgia Cates, Mebane, NC; two special aunts-in-law, Geneva Torian, Brooklyn, NY and Mrs. Caroline Torain, Hillsboro, NC; three special nephews, Jerome Cammon Sr., Tyrone Howard and rain; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
