Two LaGrange residents arrested on several drug charges

Two LaGrange residents were arrested Tuesday by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office on drug and firearm charges, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Christopher James Sherman, 29, and Bonnie Elizabeth Sherman, 30, have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of Xanax with the intent to distribute and possession of methadone. Additionally, Christopher Sherman was charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to the news release, the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at 1428 N. Davis Rd., in LaGrange. During the search, narcotics investigators found one pound of crystal methamphetamine, 867 Xanax tablets, cocaine, methadone, a small amount of marijuana and several prescription medications. Investigators also found three firearms and more than $9,000 in cash.
The sheriff’s office said additional charges are pending as of Wednesday.
