Dr. Ronald Casey Smith, 74, of Dothan, died on June 22 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on June 25 in the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church, Wicksburg, with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff officiating. Burial will follow in the Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday at the mortuary in Headland. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Smith was born and reared in Dothan, son of the late Carl Smith and Ruth Casey Smith. He was a 1962 graduate of Dothan High School and served his country in the Air National Guard in the Dothan unit. Smith enrolled in Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where he received a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1966. He practiced chiropractic in Dothan and Valley and retired in 2003. He was a former member of the Dothan Civitan Club, Valley Kiwanis Club and Gideons International. In earlier years, Smith served as a member of several chiropractic boards within the Alabama Chiropractic Association. He was a member of the Pilgrim Home Church and was a former member of the Grace Baptist Church in LaGrange, where he sang in the church choir. Smith lived in Valley for 36 years before returning to Dothan in 2018.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Kaye McCord Smith, of Dothan; a daughter, Rhonda Smith Patten (John), of Sylacauga; a son, Mark Smith (Angie), of Columbia; a sister, Glenda Smith Bryan, of Dothan; four granddaughters, Chelsey Smith Manring (Dilan), Bailee Smith, Anna Claire Patten and Abigail Patten.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Dr. David Arnold, Larry Stephens, Connell Driskell, Gary Cox, Pug Strickland and Kenneth Barfield.
