Mr. Roger Engelman — 1939-2019

Mr. Roger Engelman, 79, of Valley, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Engelman was born in Brooklyn, New York, on Oct. 28, 1939, to the late Frank Myron Engelman and Selma Getz Engelman. He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Engelman.

He was a member of Temple Israel in Columbus, Georgia for more than 40 years.

Mr. Engelman retired as the Industrial Materials Credit Manager for West Point Stevens after 42 years of service.

He is survived by his son, Scott (Michelle) Engelman, Opelika; grandchildren, Blake Engelman of Auburn, Samantha Engelman of Opelika, Christin (Steven) Dunn of Hamilton, Georgia., Skylar (Joseph) Carswell of Lanett, Taylor Smith of LaFayette; daughter, Robin Helton; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. ET at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  The Rabbi Beth Schwartz officiating.  His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. ET until 8 p.m. ET.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
