Florida man arrested after falling asleep in stolen car

A Florida man was arrested on Interstate 85 Tuesday morning after falling asleep in a stolen car, according to a news release from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.
Shannon Jordan, 40, of Tallahassee, Florida has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property, which is a felony under Georgia law.
At about 4:02 a.m. Tuesday, deputies with the sheriff’s office checked on a vehicle sitting in the median on I-85 northbound near mile marker 24.
Upon arrival, a deputy noticed a grey 2015 Ford Expedition with an Alabama tag, lights on and engine running.
The deputy also saw what looked to be an unknown white male in the driver’s seat who appeared to be sleeping.
When the deputy attempted to wake the driver up, he was informed from the 911 center the vehicle was possibly stolen from Foley, Alabama.
When an additional deputy arrived on scene, the driver was identified of Jordan and was taken into custody with incident and taken to the Troup County Jail.
The Foley Police Department was contacted regarding the arrest and recovery of the vehicle.
