LANETT — In a called meeting on Monday, the Lanett City Council approved a proposed project agreement between the city, the Chambers County Development Authority and an entity known as HSC Lanett, LLC.

Mayor Kyle McCoy has been authorized to negotiate and approve a possible agreement.

The city is offering HSC Lanett, LLC incentives such as waiving all connection fees for water, sewer, electricity and natural gas along with the initial permit and license fees in exchange for the investment of about $1.5 million in development costs for the construction of a commercial facility in the city.

This is the first step in a process that could result in a new business locating in Lanett.
