Mr. Azerious D. “Zae” Brooks, 19, of Opelika, formerly of LaFayette, passed away on July 7 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held on July 13 at 1 p.m. CDT at LaFayette High School auditorium in LaFayette, the Rev. Brandon Todd, Eulogist, the Rev. Bruce Gunn; officiating. Burial will follow in the “Old” New Mt. Sellers Baptist Church Cemetery in LaFayette.

Brooks is survived by his mother, Tawanna Patrick, of Opelika; father, Anthony Brooks, of LaFayette; siblings, Antwanisha Brooks, of LaFayette,  Aaziyah Brooks, Ajavien Brooks, Zarkyeta Patrick, Markyelin Harris and Akenzi Brooks, all of Opelika, Cyneldra (Meiko) Gilbert, of LaGrange, Quaderious Brooks and Michael Heard, of LaFayette, and Laura Washington, of Smith’s Station; grandparents, the Rev. Bettye Ann (Willie C.) Ray of LaFayette, Willie Maddox and Roland Eason, both of Opelika; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
