LANETT — Lanett Fire and Emergency Management Services Chief Johnny Allen had a health scare this week but is now back home getting some needed rest.
While at work on Tuesday of this week, Allen had a mild stroke. He was airlifted to the Midtown Piedmont Hospital, where he underwent treatment.
“He’s doing much better now,” Mayor Kyle McCoy said Friday. “He will be taking it easy until the doctors tell him he can go back to work.”
A Lanett native and a graduate of Lanett High School, Allen has been the city’s fire chief for the past 10 years.
