Mr. Lamar “Creek Creek” Huguley — 1967-2019

Mr. Lamar “Creek Creek” Huguley, 51, of West Point, transitioned on July 30.  Huguley was born Dec. 21, 1967, in West Point.

Mr. Lamar Huguely was born on December 21, 1967, in West Point, to Carolyn and James McQueen. Jr.

Living the life of an ordinary child, Lamar accepted Christ at an early age he was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church of West Point.

He received his education in the West Point Public School System, where he was a member of the West Point High School Class of 1986.

“Creek Creek” as he was known by many loved his family and friends. He was a kind-hearted, caring and considerate person that loved to laugh.

While life presented its challenges and trials, he never forgot God who saved him. Lamar’s words became few during his trials, but the Lord who saved him knew his heart.

Lamar transitioned to his heavenly home on July 30.

Lamar was predeceased in death by a special aunt and uncle, Grover and Ethel Mae Patton; his grandparents, James McQueen, Sr. Willie Huguely, Annie Mae Hill; two uncles, James and William Hill; and a great-nephew, Caleb McQueen.

Huguely leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Carolyn McQueen; father, James McQueen, Jr. (Gloria Ann), of West Point; two brothers, Michael McQueen, of West Point and Mcteral (Niecy) Houston, of LaGrange; four sisters, Margo (James) Fears, of LaGrange, Stephanie (Warron) Goss, of West Point, Matoria Barfield, of LaGrange, Talyshia McQueen, of West Point; six nieces, Britany McQueen, Ilexias McQueen, Destiny McQueen, Jameka Fears, Makayla Ransom and Khanaja Scott; three nephews, Demartino McQueen, Jamal McQueen and Mmakhiven Adams; one great-niece, Hailey McQueen; one great-nephew, Dash McQueen McQueen; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

Graveside Service for Huguley will be held on Aug. 5 at 1 p.m. in the Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, with minister Mary Alice Johnson, officiating. 

Public Viewing for Huguley will be held on Aug. 4 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the M.W. Lee Mortuary. 

The family will receive friends at the residence of Ms. Carolyn McQueen, 606 MLK, Jr. Drive, West Point.
