A traffic crash in Valley has resulted in two people being airlifted from the scene.

According to East Alabama Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Kerry Pickard, there was a multiple-vehicle crash in the 4900 block of 20^th Street in Valley. As a result of the crash, two individuals were critically injured and had to be extricated from their vehicles by the fire department.

Pickard said the individuals were also airlifted to a nearby hospital. He said limited information about the cause of the crash is known as of Thursday night, but it is under investigation by the Valley Police Department.

He said the Lanett Fire Department also provided assistance in transporting patients with minor injuries.
