Qualifying for Democratic primary elections start Wednesday, Republicans already started

Qualifying for March 3, 2020, primary elections will open Wednesday and will run until 5 p.m. on Nov. 8 on the Democratic side of the ticket, according to a news release from the Chambers County Democratic Executive Committee.
According to Chambers County Republican Party Chair Greg Ward, qualifying for the Republican ticket has already begun.
Individuals interested in running for office at the state and federal levels will need to qualify with the state party. Those interested in qualifying for county offices will need to qualify with their respective county Democratic and Republican party chairs.
Seats up for grabs in the March 3 primary are Chambers County Revenue Commissioner, District 1, 2 and 4 of the Chambers County Board of Commissioners, Chambers County Superintendent of Education and Chambers County Board of Education Districts 2 and 4.
On the Democratic side of the ticket, the required forms must be completed and submitted in person to the Chambers County Democratic Party at 308 N. Lanier Avenue in Lanett. Republicans need to file at 301A N. Lanier in Lanett.
