Rebels ranked No. 1 for first time in program history

After winning the 22nd game in a row and its 43rd regular-season game in a row with a 42-0 win over Meadowview last Friday night, Chambers Academy (9-0) has been voted the No. 1 team in all of AISA football.
The Rebels received the recognition from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) in the latest prep poll. This week, Chambers Academy faces another top-five opponent in AISA No. 5 Bessemer Academy (7-3).
Also featured in this week’s rankings are the Lanett Panthers (8-0, 5-0), who remain the No. 3 team for 1A schools after shutting out Verbena 40-0 last week. This Friday night, Lanett plays for the 1A Region 4 championship at home against Billingsley High School.
