Ms. Jane Freeman Williams — 1939-2019

Ms. Jane Freeman Williams, 80, of Valley, passed away on Oct. 29 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. She was born on June 1, 1939, in Lanett to the late William Ervin Freeman and Adella Ray Freeman.

Ms. Williams is survived by her son, Alan Williams; her grandchildren, Chasity, Samantha, Collin, Crystal and Michael Williams; her great grandchild, Landon Williams; her sister, Dahlia (James) Dykes; her nieces, Kim (Les) McMakin and Jan Dykes; her nephew, Russell Davis; her great nieces and nephews, Miranda Buice, Summer (Haven) Gaylor and Jay Buice; her special friend, Carla Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret Whitley and Sue Davis; her brother, Junior Freeman.

Ms. Williams graduated from Valley High School in 1957. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed growing flowers, and arts and crafts. She was a sweet and caring woman who loved her grandchildren and nieces and nephews very much.

Funeral services will be held on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Rusty Letson will officiate. The family received friends on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. EDT and will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1 p.m. EDT until the service hour at the funeral home.
