Team members at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) recently donated more than 2,000 toys and 66 bicycles to the Toys for Tots program in Troup County.
The U.S. Marine Corps League in LaGrange donates part of the donated toys to the Salvation Army in LaGrange, Empty Stocking Fund in Hogansville and LaGrange Personal Aide.
“Because of your team members, all of the children who requested bicycles this year will receive them,” said Lisa Martin, director of the Salvation Army. “On distribution day, there were times we have not had enough bicycles, but we don’t have that problem this year. In addition to the bicycles, your team has blessed so many families in the area with such wonderful toys.”
Organizers of the Toys for Tots program also thanked KMMG team members.
“For all of the KMMG team members who took time to donate to Toys for Tots, we thank you,” said U.S. Marine Randy Dollar. “You all should be proud of your commitment to the Toys for Tots program. We Marines are proud of the job y’all have done.”
Chris Miller, chief administrative officer for KMMG, said he is proud of the team.
“Team members spent their own money for the toys and bicycles,” Miller said. “That’s what makes it all the more great. To see the generosity of our team members is inspiring. Not only for the Toys for Tots, but our team members also generously donate to our school supply and food drives. KMMG is proud of our team for its willingness to give back to the community.”
