VALLEY — The 18-year-old male found dead outside of Little Caesars Pizza Friday afternoon has been identified.
Valley Police say the individual was Jacob Andrew Neely of Beulah. Police also confirmed Neely was an employee of Little Caesars.
According to Major Mike Reynolds, employees of the pizza restaurant arrived to open the store at about 9 a.m. to find the unresponsive man in the vehicle. When they couldn’t get the man to wake up, they called emergency services.
When first responders arrived, they began life-saving procedures but still couldn’t revive the man. Then, he was transported to EAMC-Lanier and was later pronounced dead.
As of Friday afternoon, Reynolds said the cause of death is still unknown. However, there was nothing in the vehicle or on the body that would indicate any foul play.
Reynolds said it didn’t seem like the man had been dead long before he was found. Reynolds said the Valley Police Department has opened a death investigation in the matter.
Police said the body has been transported to the state’s medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and toxicology screen.
