The third Alabama Sports Writers Association high school basketball rankings came out this week, and four Chambers County schools remained in the rankings.

The Lanett boys and Chambers Academy boys each moved up a spot, while the Springwood girls fell two spots. The LaFayette boys stayed put.

The Bulldogs are one of the six undefeated teams in the state of Alabama, as the Bulldogs are 18-0. They clinched the regular-season area title this past Friday with a blowout win at Ranburne.

The Bulldogs have three games this week. They defeated Dadeville by nearly 40 points on Tuesday. They play the No. 5 team in 6A on Thursday when they host Opelika and travel to the No. 8 team in. 1A when they play Lanett.

The Panthers jumped from No. 9 to No. 8, as they are on a four-game winning streak. In those four games, the Panthers defeated three area opponents and 5A Valley.

The Chambers boys team also moved up one spot, advancing from No. 6 to No. 5 in AISA. The Rebels won all three of their games. In their most recent game, the Rebels defeated then-No. 3 Lee-Scott.

The Springwood girls basketball team fell from No 6 to No. 8, as the Wildcats dropped a road game at Evangel. They travel to No. 2 Lee-Scott on Friday.
