Lanett Fire Chief Johnny Allen has confirmed that there has been a body found in the 1900 block of Cherry Dr.

At approximately, 5:20 p.m. a passerby called to report what they thought to be a body. Police and fire were dispatched to the 1900 block of Cherry drive and confirmed a body has been found.

The cause of death has not been determined and the identity has not been released.
