Mr. Jerry Lee Thrower, age 70, of Lanett passed away on Monday, March 2nd, 2020 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 27, 1949, in West Point, Georgia to the late Jim and Mary Louise Thrower.
Mr. Thrower is survived by his wife, Patsy “Mimi” Thrower; children, Michelle Thrower Vitti and Sam (Kathy) Thrower; grandchildren, Shelby (Cody) Williams, Hannah Grace Thrower, Aedan Vitti, and Trinity Vitti; sisters, Ann (Michael) Hanner and Mary Beth Thrower; niece, Charity Hanner; numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wallace Thrower.
Mr. Thrower was a member of Lanier Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He loved his Lord. He was a graduate of Southern Union and attended Auburn University.
He was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell and the City of Lanett, where he served as an Inspector. He was a charter member of Lakeview Fire & Rescue, where over the years he served as President and Chief. He was also a former member of the East Alabama Water Board and very active with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed fishing.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 2 p.m. EST at the Lanier Baptist Church in Lanett. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The Reverend Mike Hawkins will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
