Dear Editor,
Regarding the State Court Judgeship of Troup County, Georgia. I would like to add my endorsement to those who already support Wesley Leonard as he seeks election to the office of State Court Judge of Troup County.
I have known Wes Leonard both personally and professionally for over thirty (30) years and can vouch for his abilities as an attorney and qualifications to fill the judgeship soon to be vacated by Hon. Jeannette Little.
Most of the readers of the VTN are already familiar with Wes Leonard since he graduated from Springwood School and then from Auburn University.
Upon graduation from Auburn, Wes attended Mercer University School of Law from where he graduated in 1987. After law school, Wes Leonard joined the well known firm of Duncan & Thomasson (today known as Duncan, Thomasson & Leonard, P.C). In 2009, Wes became Municipal Judge of the City of West Point, taking the reins from longtime City Court Judge, Drexel Meadors, and has served ably in that capacity for over ten (10) years.
I can say without reserve that Wes Leonard will serve the citizens of Troup County exceedingly well as State Court Judge. I know him to be diligent, industrious, honest and of the highest ethical standards.
As City Court Judge he has been fair but firm. He is not afraid to make difficult decisions and has done so with impartiality. He will carry those qualities to the State Court Bench.
