The Georgia High School Association voted Monday to move the start of the football season back two weeks, according to minutes from the meeting available on the GHSA website.
The first games of high school football season will now be Sept. 4. The rest of the football calendar will remain as is, meaning football conditioning will still begin July 27. GHSA is still planning a ten-game regular season and a full, five-week playoffs.
All other GHSA fall sports will remain on schedule, according to the minutes from the meeting.
