At 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, a two-vehicle wreck claimed the life of a Valley man.

Richard Nolen Foster, 41, F150 pickup and a Chevy Silverado collided head-on in the 9000 block of Lee Road 158 near Lee Road 379.

According to the report, Foster veered into the oncoming lane and struck the Silverado. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

There were no other vehicles involved in the wreck.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris pronounced Foster dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was airlifted by helicopter to Columbus Piedmont Hospital

The accident remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers and the Lee County Coroner’s office.
