Springwood’s girls basketball team’s hot streak came to a halt on Tuesday as the Wildcats fell to Lakeside 45-38.
Springwood was able to cut Lakeside’s lead to one after a 10-2 run in the second period, but the Wildcats were never able to take full control of the game as the Chiefs held a 27-24 lead at halftime.
Shalexia Little provided most of Springwood’s scoring on the night. Little finished with a team-high 15 points.
The Wildcats struggled to find any scoring outside of Little. Emily Jo Matthews was the next-highest scorer with five points.
Madison Robinson provided four points in limited minutes. Haley Hurst also added four points in the starting lineup.
The loss dropped Springwood to 6-1 on the season. The Wildcats look to regroup as they face Southern Prep at home on Thursday.
