“After careful consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal,” Bridges’ statement read on X. “I want to express my appreciation for the incredible support, guidance and encouragement I have received during my time as a football player at the University of Oregon.”
Bridges signed to play for Oregon in December of 2018. Since then, Bridges has been a standout in the secondary for the Ducks. Now, after his junior season, Bridges is looking for a new home.
Last season as a sophomore, Bridges started all 13 of Oregon’s games. Bridges was named to the All-Pac-12 third team after the season.
In total, during his career at Oregon, Bridges finished with 93 total tackles, four interceptions, 13 pass deflections and two forced fumbles. Bridges appeared in 42 games for the Ducks.
Bridges’ time at Lanett was something for the history books. While at Lanett High School, Bridges helped guide the team to a state championship in 2017. Bridges was named to All-State three times before graduating in 2019, and he was named the All-Valley Player of the Year in 2018.
Bridges was a three-star prospect coming out of high school, and he is currently listed as a three-star safety in the transfer portal.
At six-foot-three, there will undoubtedly be several colleges looking to add Bridges to the secondary within the coming weeks.
