AT&T has reported a widespread outage that is impacting areas across the country, including in Troup County, on Thursday morning.

On its website, AT&T stated “Some customers in your area are having trouble making or receiving calls. As a result, we are experiencing long hold times. We apologize for this inconvenience and we are working to resolve this issue.”

More than 70,000 users had reported problems to Down Detector as of Thursday morning around 9 a.m. ET. Down Detector shows the outage reports started around 3 a.m. Thursday morning.

While the service is down, modes like Wifi calling will still work.
