The Valley Rams continued their dominance on the diamond as the Rams returned to Crestview Field on Monday with a 15-1 win against Randolph County.
From the very first pitch, it was obvious that the Tigers were in for a rough night. It was also obvious that starting pitcher Jackson Sanders had his best stuff on Monday as he struck out the first four batters he faced. 

In total, Sanders pitched a season-high four innings, allowing no hits or runs. Sanders allowed two walks and struck out 12 batters on just 59 pitches. 

Sanders got the scoring started for Valley in the bottom of the first inning as he drove in Matthew Mcdonald on a triple. CJ Chambley kept it going for the Rams as he ripped a double into center field to score Sanders. 

Mason Yarbrough helped Valley pour it on as he drove in a run on a single. Carter Green drove in two runs to give Valley an early 5-0 lead. Bryson Monteith rounded out the scoring for the Rams in the inning as he drove in a run on a double. 

The Rams stayed hot at the plate in the bottom of the second inning as Sanders started the inning with a solo home run. Ty Monteith scored on a passed ball later in the inning to give the Rams an 8-0 lead. Carter rounded out the scoring in the inning as he drove in two and gave the Rams a 10-0 lead on a single. 

Valley added another run in the bottom of the third inning as Sanders drove Mcdonald in on a sacrifice fly. Valley added to the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. 

Ty Flanary scored on an error, and then Chambley drove in Monteith with a single. Yarbrough drove in a run on another single, and Clayton Sanders finished off the scoring for Valley as he scored on a fielder’s choice. 

Clayton came in for relief in the top of the fifth inning and allowed three hits and one earned run while striking out two batters. 

Jackson led Valley at the plate with three RBIs on two hits. Chambley had a big night at the plate as well as he went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Carter went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. 

The win on Monday was just another stop in what has been a dominant first month for the Valley Rams. Valley is currently 9-1 on the season. 

A major part of the Rams’ success this season has been due to its pitching staff and defense. Valley is currently allowing just over three runs per game. 

Valley returns to the diamond on Wednesday as the Rams take a short trip to face Heard County on the road.
