A late rally fell short for the Lady Bobcats on Tuesday as Beulah fell to Horseshoe Bend 2-0 at home.
The Lady Bobcats had an opportunity to fight their way back into the game late as Abrianna Green led the bottom of the seventh inning off with a triple. Beulah could not capitalize though as the next three batters struck out to end the game.
The Generals got the lead early and never relented as a double and a single gave Horseshoe Bend a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
Beulah struggled at the plate as the Lady Bobcats finished with just two hits and three total base runners. Kyleigh Morgan and Green were the only two Bobcats to finish with a hit.
Maci Wingo got the start for Beulah and allowed four hits and two earned runs in 1 ⅓ innings in the circle. Wingo was replaced by Madyson Snedigar. Snedigar was dominant in relief. Snedigar allowed just two hits and three walks while striking out nine batters in 5 ⅔ innings.
Beulah will need to have a short memory as the Lady Bobcats are set to face Beauregard at home on Wednesday. Beulah currently sits at 5-10 on the season.
