Calling all weekend yard sale enthusiasts — LaFayette Main Street is hosting a community yard sale at the LaFayette First Baptist Church on Saturday, June 8 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CT.

The “mega” yard sale will have hot dogs for sale and other food from vendors to enjoy while browsing.

From antiques to household items to fresh produce, there will be plenty of shopping to go around.

“There’ll be lots of great deals, lots of great fans, and we absolutely want people to come out,” said DeAnna Hand, director of LaFayette Main Street.

LaFayette Main Street (LMS), an organization dedicated to improving the economic vitality and beautification of the downtown area, has held many community events since its designation in 2022.

One of the four priorities of the organization is to stimulate local economic growth by encouraging the tourism and local downtown business.

The mega community yard sale is just another summer event to help give people activities in the downtown area.

“We encourage all that once they come to the yard sale to also visit downtown, look at our beautiful historic district and shop local at our local merchants that are open on Saturday,” Hand said. “[LMS is] just trying to increase the foot traffic downtown on weekends.”

Craft vendors and local churches are also invited to come out with baked goods or other items for sale.

Registration is required to open a booth or table during the event. Registration is $35. Hand said those interested in registering can call 334-740-1532.
