Crash on I-85 shuts down southbound lanes near mile marker 73

A single-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle that occurred at approximately 4:37 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, has caused a lane closure. The southbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the 73-mile marker in Chambers County are currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene assisting with traffic control and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
A commercial vehicle, a tractor-trailer, that left the roadway, struck a bridge railing and then the guardrail. There were no injuries as a result of the crash.
