CHAMBERS COUNTY – Weather permitting, beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17th , the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the outside travel lanes on US 29 from Milepost 207.00 to Milepost 207.50 to thru traffic.  During the lane closures, ALDOT will remove and replace curb and gutter, sidewalk, and guardrail. Asphalt leveling work will be performed on the closed lanes.

This phase of the project is scheduled to be ongoing for approximately 6 weeks. The outside lanes will remain closed for the duration of this work.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
