After a tough loss against Team Georgia on Thursday, Valley 10U AAA Allstars (Team Alabama in the Diamond Youth Baseball World Series) bounced back to beat Tennessee 7-2 on Friday.

There were many shining moments in Bossier City on Friday morning the Valley team could take away. But perhaps, the brightest spots in the lineup were the duo Benton Earl and Ingram Smith. Earl went 3 for 3 on the day, crossing home each time. Smith went 2 for 2 and batted in 4 RBIs for the Alabama side.

On the pitching side, Noal Lynd had a spectacular outing giving the team a shutout five innings. Lynd struck out 8 batters and did not give up any runs during his start to receive the win.

The game got off to a fun start when Earl singled, followed by an error allowing Cole Carswell to reach base. Both runners stole to get runners on 3rd and 2nd. Smith played his part by hitting a line drive to bring them home.

The same names appeared on the box score during the top of the 3rd inning. Earl singled and took advantage of the throw to get on second. Carswell batted him in for another single and error by Tennessee. Carssell was moved over by Mason Landrum, then Smith walloped another line drive to bring Carswell home.

A pair of walks and a single by Earl gets bases loaded in the top of the fifth. Smith takes a hit by pitch to walk Walker Wright home, Easton Allen takes a walk to bring Earl home, and Reason Lacy walks to bring Mason Landrum home. A trio of walks to clear and fill the bases. But, that would be the end of the fun for that inning.

Tennessee tried to gain momentum in the final bottom half. Four walks and a passed ball brought the score to 7-2. But Valley got the final outs and with it a bye-week.

Team Alabama will play South Carolina next, tomorrow at 11:15 a.m. CT.
