ALEA Senior Trooper arrested on child solicitation charge

MONTGOMERY — Former Senior Trooper Ryan Rhodes resigned from his position with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) on
Friday, Aug. 23. The resignation follows his arrest by deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for Electronic Solicitation of a Child, Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act and Resisting Arrest.
The arrest is a result of an ongoing investigation led by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Rhodes was one of 11 men arrested on Aug. 23 for similar crimes.
The U.S. Marshals Service, ALEA, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Covenant Rescue Group were also involved in the sting operation.
