New Horizons Community Theatre is gearing up for its upcoming show, Always a Bridesmaid. The show will run from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26. Always a Bridesmaid center on a group of four friends that make a promise at their Senior Prom to be in each other’s weddings.
After opening their season with a kids production, School House Rock, New Horizons is following up with a more mature show with an adult cast. The story follows four women and the ups and downs of their relationships, shown through their respective wedding days.
In a synopsis of the show, contributed by Bill Nixon, the theatre’s artistic director, it states, “If you’ve ever elbowed a stranger out of the way to catch a bride’s bouquet, seriously questioned the mental stability of the duo saying “I do” or been forced to wear the world’s ugliest bridesmaid dress, this deliriously funny Jines Hope Wooten comedy is definitely for you…and your dearly beloved!”
Lydia Johnson will be directing the cast, featuring, Isabelle Hewett, Patti Landreau, Ruth Dawn Mosley, Kimberly Todd, Deven James and Zatania Gooden.
The Oct. 24 and 25 showings will be at 7:30 p.m., while Saturday, Oct. 26 will have a matinee at 2:30 p.m. and night show at 7:30 p.m..
Tickets are available on the theatre’s website, nhct.org, at $18 for adults and $16 for seniors (55 and up), students and military.
