GVACC hosts 61st annual member dinner

Some of the Greater Valley area’s biggest community leaders gathered at the Burrow Warehouse. During the evening, several businesses and individuals were recognized at the 61st annual member dinner of the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.

Johnny’s New York Style Pizza provided the dinner and cocktails. LaGrange Grocery also provided cocktails. As members mingled, local artist Dean Sheffield performed several popular songs.

GVACC Director Carrie Wood recognized this year’s Chamber Ambassadors for their hard work and time commitment as well. According to Chamber Board member Adrian Holloway, 47 students joined the Junior Ambassador program this year.

Six businesses and two individuals were recognized for their service to the community and to the Chamber for 2024 during the dinner. The following representatives were voted on by their fellow members:

4 Ambassador of the Year was Kimberly Rose of Southstate Bank

4 Emerging Business of the Year was Eagle Roofing, accepted by owners Eli and Hannah Culpepper

4 Small Business of the Year was Gimme Some Sugar, accepted by owners Michael and Holly Foster

4 Business of the Year was Capital City Bank, accepted by Troup and Chambers Counties President Karen Meadows

4 Retail Business of the Year was Chambley’s, accepted by owner George Chambley

4 Restaurant of the Year was Johnny’s New York Style Pizza in West Point, accepted by owners Ben and Katie Hamilton

4 Industrial Business of the Year was Mr. Ice, accepted by owner Michael Givorn’s

4 Community Mover and Shaker of the Year was Breanna Lassett, owner of Long Beach Tanning

“I would like to say thank you for your support over the last 61 years,” Wood said.
