Informational literacy event coming to LaFayette Library in October

LaFayette Library will be hosting an informational event on child literacy and reading disorders.

Lydia Allison, Assistant Clinical Professor and Speech and Hearing Clinic, from the Auburn University Speech and Hearing Clinic, will be sharing information on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 3:30 CST. While there, she will talk about dyslexia, other reading disorders, literacy, and pre-literacy skills.

The Speech and Hearing Clinic offers treatment for language therapy, articulation therapy, stuttering therapy and feeding.

Allison and other professionals from the university have also partnered with Chambers County Community Health and Wellness Center for screenings and hearing aid evaluations. Auburn University’s Speech and Hearing Clinic offers screenings and full examinations on the Auburn campus for speech and hearing conditions.

There will be board games for children to play while the parents are listening to the program.

Registration is not required.
