LaFayette man dies in single vehicle crash on Thursday morning

ALEX CITY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:17 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, has claimed the life of a LaFayette man. Christopher M. Burke, 23, was fatally injured when the 2008 Toyota Corolla he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturn. Burke was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 177 mile marker, approximately five miles south of Roanoke, in Chambers County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
