Mrs. Faye Gauntt age Ninety-one passed away on September 29, 2024, at home. She was born on January 22, 1933, one of the identical twins Faye and Raye. She married Tom Gauntt on March 8, 1952. And she graduated from Valley High School in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Elsie Hamil, brother Ralph Hamil, two sisters, Sandra Bishop and Raye Hill, her husband Tom Gauntt, her son, Steve Gauntt, and her brother-in-law Rudolph Hill.
She is survived by her children Laurie Gauntt Simpson and Martha Gauntt, one grandchild Mandy Simpson Johnson (Bubba), daughter-law Sally Gauntt Scott, sister-in-law Joan Hamil, four great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was a faithful member of the West End Baptist Church since she was thirteen years old where she taught Sunday school for over fifty years. She greatly loved her family. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Faye’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. The Pastors Don Downs and Noah McGuire will officiate. Faye’s family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
