Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in head-on collision in Valley, 16-year-old charged

Local law enforcement has responded to a two-vehicle crash off of 20th Ave and Charter Drive in which a juvenile involved in a police pursuit struck another vehicle. Both Chambers County and Harris County sheriff’s departments were on the scene, along with East Alabama Fire and EMS and Valley and Lanett PD.
According to a Harris County Sheriff’s Lt. Massie, the crash which occured around 2 PM ET was the result of a stolen vehicle pursuit that started in Harris County.
The vehicle was stolen out of Roanoke. The driver was a 16-year-old male from Five Points, said Valley PD chief Mike Reynolds.
A witness of the accident said she saw the driver of the stolen vehicle flee on foot after the collision. Reynolds confirmed this, adding that the juvenile was quickly apprehended. He was apprehended on 19th Avenue by law enforcement after attempting to flee the scene.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were taken to EAMC-Lanier hospital. The juvenile sustained injury to his head and ankle, according to VPD. After being discharged, the juvenile will be processed by Valley PD and charged with Possession of a stolen vehicle (1st degree) and possession of a loaded weapon.
The incident took place between the Dunkin Donuts and Burger King in Valley. One lane of 28th Street was blocked but has now been cleared.
