The Rams celebrated senior night with a 22-3 win against Dadeville. Friday was the last game of the season, and for senior football players, cheerleaders and band members it would be their final game in the orange and blue.

Both sides had chances but couldn’t do much in the first. After Valley’s defense stopped Dadeville on first and goal the Tigers settled for three points to start the scoring with four minutes left in the first.

The Ram’s offense picked up momentum at the tail end of the quarter. To start the second, Valley had the ball fourth and 19. Quarterback Caden Foreman found Tykelvin Carrell downfield who took it home. The touchdown was followed by a two-point conversion pass to Galvin Goss giving the Rams the lead for the first time in the game.

On their next drive, the Rams again found themselves on the back foot with third and long. Another arching bomb by Foreman gets the ball to Goss, who was a step ahead of two Dadeville defenders. Goss’ speed was too much for the Tigers giving the Rams their second touchdown. Foreman kept the ball to extend the lead 16-3.

Still six and half minutes left in the half, Valley’s defense wanted the ball. Jaylan Roberts recovered a Dadeville fumble.

Valley was plugging downfield as the clock wound down in the first half. A long run by Tilyn Carrell moved the ball closer. But after a sideline scuffle, penalties pushed the Rams back to 1st and 30 and into their own territory. On the next play, Forman threw an interception giving the Tigers possession on their 42-yard-line with one minute to go in the half. Dadeville was unable to capitalize.

Valley got the ball first in the second half. Foreman sent a bullet to Zan Woody, which was caught in the air about twenty yards out. As he landed, Tigers defenders knocked the ball out and recovered the fumble at their own 30-yard-line.

The whole stadium went quiet when a Dadeville player went down on the following drive. The young Tiger was taken off the field by local paramedics and trainers into an East Alabama Ambulance.

After a short punt, Tilyn used his speed around the outside to put Valley up 23-3 with a minute left in the third quarter.

The fourth went by quickly as the clock continued to run. Valley had a chance at a touchdown before another poorly timed penalty pushed them back.

The final minutes would go by quietly, however, the crowd got more lively. Coaches began hugging their senior players as the band and cheerleaders did the same. Many were teary-eyed as the upperclassman did a final walk across the field.
