OPELIKA POST – A single-vehicle crash occurred involving a pedestrian at approximately 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, and has claimed the life of a Cusseta woman.

The pedestrian, Angel M. Elliot, 43, who was in the roadway, was fatally injured after being struck by the 2019 BMW X5 driven by a 58-year-old Valley man.

Elliot was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 29 near the 199 mile marker, approximately six miles south of Valley, in Lee County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
