Two bobcats signed on to play at the next level. Kyleigh Morgan and Madyson Snedigar will play softball at Central Alabama Community College next fall.

The teammates signed their letters together on Wednesday afternoon in the school’s gym as a crowd of friends, family and coaches watched on.

The athletes had both committed to CACC last season, after being recruited by head coach  Greg Shivers.

“I had Brana play for me,” Shivers said referring to former CACC player and current Beulah Assistant coach Brana Snider. “She told me about Kyleigh…she checked all the boxes we’re looking for. We had Madison come in and throw it for us. And we really liked what she could do.”

Assistant coaches and Beulah’s head coach, Stan Pepper, saw this transition as inevitable for the two special players.

On Snedigar, Lindsey Collins, Beulah’s pitching coach said, “It just takes her putting her mind to something and [you] realize that she’s going to give her best and be the best at it.”

The bullpen coach recounted how she knew the pitcher was special when she found out the Snedigar was a self-taught pitcher, learning from YouTube videos.

“That’s when I realized the determination of Madyson Snedigar,” Collins said.

Snider has known Morgan since she “Could barely hold a bat.”

“I know I’ve been hard on you…probably yelled at you more than anyone else. But I hope you know that’s only because I see your full potential,” Snider said as Morgan smiled at her coach.

Pepper said that this was the eighth or ninth signing day in the last five years for Beulah Softball.

“We’ve had pretty much everyone that started for us has made it to the next level,” he said.

When asked what made players like Snedigar and Morgan good enough to make it to the college level Peppers’s answer was immediate.

“They just, they’re hard workers,” he said. “You couldn’t ask for better people as far as work ethic. They enjoy the game. They enjoy each other, and they love the game of softball, and that’s what it takes.”

While both players will be trading in white and gold for CACC blues, the pair will always be Bobcats.
