Holiday closures for the week of Christmas, New Year’s

Most people want to be home with their families during the holidays, which usually means that businesses need to close, phones go to voicemail and mailboxes are empty. With Christmas coming up next week, it’s a good time to find out what the hours are for local businesses and municipalities and plan errands ahead of time.
The Valley Walmart will be closing early on Dec. 24. The store will open at 6 a.m. ET and close at 6 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve. It will be closed all day on Christmas. However, the hours will not change for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.
The Givorn’s in Valley will be open Monday and Tuesday but will close at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. They will be closed for Christmas Day and reopen on Thursday.
Whereas Kroger will be open for limited hours on Christmas Eve from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will be closed on the 25th and then reopen from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday.
The city of West Point will be open Monday until 5 p.m. Then, they will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Normal hours will resume on Thursday. The city hall will be closed on New Year’s Day as well.
The City of West Point Police Department will also be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday; however, emergency personnel will be available 24 hours a day.
In Lanett, the city hall will close early at 2:30 p.m. on Monday ahead of Christmas Eve. They will remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and then reopen for regular business hours on Thursday.
Valley’s city hall administrative offices will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well and on Jan. 1 for the New Year’s Day holiday.
For those who have yet to visit the famous Christmas Merry-Go-Round this year, the hours will be Dec. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Dec. 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
