The Reed Foundation is hosting its third annual Christmas Skate Party. As always, the first 100 people through the doors of the Valley Skate will get in free. The party will take place on Dec. 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
While only the first 100 will get to skate free, everyone who comes will be entered into a toy raffle at no cost. There will be a variety of gifts, for all ages, raffled off during the event. Clifton Autry, the Assistant Executive Director of the Foundation, said that the Foundation staff works with local businesses to provide lots of items to give away.
Last year, according to Autry, around 40 kids were lined up before the event even started. The foundation expects another great turnout this year.
“For the Reed Foundation, anytime that we can give back to the community, it’s a plus for us,” Autry said. “With the Christmas holiday, there’s so many kids in the area that may not get as much or anything for the holidays.”
He adds that it gives kids a chance to not only have fun with friends but also allows families to get to know the Foundation and its mission.
“People can kind of get the feel of who we are…it’s great to partner and make those connections with not only the kids but their families,” Autry said.
The Reed Foundation works to help kids and seniors in the Greater Valley Area. The organization was started in 2021 by Cameron Reed and has expanded to include a scholarship and mentoring program and multiple annual events.
