On Dec. 24 at approximately 3:48 p.m. CT the Lee County 911 Center received a call reporting gunfire in the vicinity of Lee Rd 2113 and US 29 North in the Beulah community of north Lee County.
Upon entry deputies encountered a 18-year-old male and two females, ages 18 and 19. The two females appeared to suffer from gunshot wounds and were unresponsive. Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton pronounced both females deceased at the scene.
Though not related, both victims listed their driver’s license address as the residence where the shooting took place.
Further investigation revealed that the male had reportedly assaulted his mother, who lives next door to the residence where the victims were discovered and had taken a handgun from the mother’s residence.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots before the 911 call was received. Evidence indicates that after assaulting his mother, he left her residence and went next door where the victims were found.
Two 9-year-old female twins had been at the residence just prior to the shooting.
The 18-year-old male has been taken into custody and faces Capital Murder charges.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have additional information involving this crime is requested to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division at 334-737-7155.
